Pertemps Recruitment, in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council, is looking for a Business Support Administrator to join the busy Information and Governance team, providing essential administrative support across a range of council services. This is a varied role that would suit someone who is organised, reliable and detail-focused, with a willingness to learn new systems and processes. You’ll work alongside council officers to help coordinate information requests and ensure they are dealt with accurately and within the required timescales. You’ll also provide support to the Planning Business Support team, including monitoring shared mailboxes and locating historical planning records requested by customers.
Key responsibilities
- Track and coordinate incoming information requests, ensuring they are recorded and progressed appropriately.
- Work closely with officers to help respond to information requests.
- Monitor and manage shared mailboxes, ensuring enquiries and requests are dealt with promptly.
- Search for and retrieve historical planning records requested by customers.
- Accurately record and process information using relevant systems and software.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and customers, providing clear and accurate information.
- Support a range of administrative tasks across the Information and Governance and Planning teams.
- Manage competing priorities and work to agreed deadlines.
- Follow established processes and procedures while identifying opportunities to improve how tasks are completed.

- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work.
- Has good written communication skills and can communicate professionally.
- Is organised and able to manage a varied workload and competing priorities.
- Is confident learning new software packages and systems - full training will be provided.
- Is flexible and happy to support with a variety of administrative tasks.
- Is reliable, motivated and keen to learn new processes.
- Can work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
- Has previous administration, business support or customer service experience.
Location & working arrangements
The role is primarily based at the Walton Street office, Aylesbury, HP20 1UA, with weekly visits to the Gatehouse Aylesbury office and High Wycombe office. The role offers hybrid working, with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in the office.
