Position
Arborist Lead Climber – Staffordshire, MOD Beacon Barracks.
Salary & Benefits
£16.00 to £19.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience, plus company benefits and opportunities for overtime or call‑out.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday. Seasonal: Summer – 7:30am to 4:30pm; Winter – 8:00am to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Perform tree removals, crown thinning, reductions, lifting, dead‑wooding and tree planting at MOD Beacon Barracks.
- Carry out ongoing tree maintenance.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as an Arborist with a strong understanding of arboricultural operations.
- Relevant industry qualifications (essential):
- CS30 / NPTC 201 – Level 3 Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross‑cutting
- CS31 / NPTC 202 – Level 3 Felling Small Trees
- CS32 / NPTC 304 – Level 3 Felling and Processing Medium Trees (380–760mm)
- CS38 / NPTC 203 – Level 2 Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
- CS39 / NPTC 204 – Level 2 Operate a Chain Saw from a Rope and Harness
- CS40 / NPTC 302 – Level 3 Aerial Tree Pruning
- CS41 / NPTC 303 – Level 3 Aerial Tree Rigging
- Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to pass DBS and BPSS checks (the client will assist with obtaining these).
Desirable Qualifications
- First Aid, Forestry, MEWP, Wood Chipper, IPAF, etc. (training can be provided in‑house).
Strengths & Skills
- Excellent knowledge of arboriculture, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to carry out operations safely and competently with a can‑do attitude.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in liaising with clients and staff at all levels.
