Overview
The Toolmaker position based in Acton involves interpreting technical drawings and specifications to determine materials and processes for precision component manufacture.
This is a full-time, days-only role offering a salary between £38,000 and £44,000 per annum, with a 39-hour week from Monday to Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders and CNC equipment to produce tools and parts.
- Assemble, fit and adjust components to ensure proper function and finish of tools and dies.
- Maintain and repair existing dies, moulds and fixtures to sustain production efficiency.
- Inspect finished tools and components for quality and adherence to specifications using measuring instruments such as micrometres, gauges and callipers.
- Liaise with engineers, design team and production to improve tool designs and resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used and time spent on each job.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Able to maintain and build tooling and dies.
- Competent with CNC machinery.
- Able to safely use machinery and cutting equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders and all conventional toolroom machinery.
- Able to understand and interpret technical drawings.
- Able to work within tight tolerances.
- Continuous improvement mentality.

Based in Stourport; commuting options include nearby towns (Kidderminster, Worcester, Droitwich, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Stourbridge).
