We are seeking an accomplished, highly experienced, and self‑motivated Senior Interior Designer to join our client's established design studio. This permanent role requires a team player with exceptional client‑facing skills and a proven background in workplace design. The focus of the role is on leading the early client engagement and design stages, ensuring design quality, and supporting the Director in the management of a 10‑15 strong project team. A passion for integrating sustainability strategies is essential. Potential projects include high‑profile corporate interiors in the Financial sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Management and Design Leadership: Serve as the main client point of contact, managing expectations and presenting projects. Lead the team through the crucial front‑end client engagement and design phases (RIBA Stages 0-3).
- Team Support and Oversight: Support the Director in managing and mentoring a 10‑15 person project team, providing effective leadership and project direction in the Director's absence.
- Project Delivery: Run projects and manage the team through the entire project lifecycle, from briefing to completion (RIBA Stages 0-6).
- Quality and Detail: Function as a strong designer with an excellent eye for detail and quality, ensuring design excellence is maintained throughout.
- Sustainability Focus: Actively implement client sustainability strategies into the design, material selection, and project specifications.
- Technical and Documentation: Coordinate consultant requirements, oversee technical drawings and 3D visualisations, and manage the selection of finishes, materials, and FF&E.
- Financial and Administration: Assist with cost management, budget planning, and advising clients on technical specifications and project costs.
- Multi-Tasking: Effectively manage and prioritise work across multiple projects concurrently.
Profile
- Sector Expertise: Extensive, proven experience in workplace design and delivering corporate interior fit‑out and refurbishment projects. Site experience is required.
- Design and Process Knowledge: A well‑rounded knowledge of the full project process is required, with an ability to get involved confidently at all stages (RIBA 0-6).
- Technical Software Skills: AutoCAD Expert proficiency is mandatory. Intermediate Revit experience. Intermediate Enscape experience.
- Skills: Excellent conceptual design, presentation, and communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas three‑dimensionally (sketching ability is desirable).
- Attributes: A flexible and adaptable approach to work, capable of multi‑tasking and prioritising effectively. A naturally positive, collaborative, and professional approach to teamwork.
