Position: Middleweight Interior Designer

Sector: Commercial Office Interiors

Salary: £55,000+ Travel + paid parking

Office hours: Hybrid

Location: Berkshire

About the role

Jak Consultancy is working with a leading commercial design and build practice to recruit a Midweight Designer for their Berkshire-based team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial workplace projects, from small works refurbishments through to large-scale fit-outs of up to 120,000 sq ft.

Our client is seeking a creative and technically strong designer who can demonstrate Revit proficiency and bring experience in delivering projects across all stages. Candidates from an architectural background will be considered, provided they can showcase proven interiors experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop workplace design concepts and space planning solutions for projects of all sizes.
  • Produce technical drawings, 3D models, and project documentation using Revit.
  • Work collaboratively with the senior team, project managers, and directly with clients to ensure the design vision is realised.
  • Contribute to CAT A and CAT B workplace projects, balancing creativity with practicality.
  • Support client presentations, mood boards, and design packs.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure accurate execution of design intent.
  • Manage workload across multiple projects, from small refurbishments to major corporate fit-outs.
  • Candidate Profile

    • 3–6 years’ experience in commercial workplace design.
    • Strong Revit skills (essential).
    • A portfolio that demonstrates both conceptual design ability and technical delivery.
    • Experience working on projects from small works up to 120,000 sq ft+.
    • Background in architecture or interior design with proven interiors expertise.
    • Knowledge of workplace strategy and modern office design solutions.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable in client-facing situations.
    • Able to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
