We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a global workplace office Design and Build company in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a passion for the interiors and construction industry.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in UK and European VAT and finance knowledge and finance management. The Finance Manager will take ownership of the company\’s financial operations in the UK, European, and Middle East offices.
You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day accounts and supporting strategic financial decisions as the company continues to grow. This is a hands-on role with a broad remit, perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all financial operations including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll coordination, and monthly reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of VAT returns, with expert-level knowledge of UK and European VAT regulations.
- Experience in managing profit, loss and balancing.
- Understanding and handling CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) compliance and submissions.
- Use Sage accounting software to maintain financial records, generate reports, and manage budgets.
- Support commercial teams with cost tracking, project budgets, and financial forecasting.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and HMRC as required.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased financial efficiency.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Requirements:
- Be ACCA or CIMA qualified.
- Minimum 5 years\’ experience in a Finance Manager or similar role within the construction, design & build, or related industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK and European VAT and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of the CIS scheme and experience managing CIS returns.
- Proficient in Sage accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
- Proactive, with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
- Able to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial team members.
- Self-starter who enjoys taking ownership and driving results.
