About the Company

Our client is a globally recognised Project Management Consultancy (PMC) specialising in workplace environments and delivering complex projects for leading organisations. With a strong reputation for managing high-quality workplace programmes, they bring together project management, design expertise and technical knowledge to deliver successful outcomes for their clients. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Associate Interior Designer to join their London team.

This is an opportunity for a highly capable workplace designer who enjoys being involved throughout the full design lifecycle — from early workplace strategy, test fits and concept development through to detailed design and construction documentation. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, internal Project Managers, estimators and wider consultant teams to develop effective workplace solutions and ensure projects are successfully delivered.

The business has an established sales and client development function, meaning this role has no direct business development responsibilities. Designers typically become involved once opportunities have been secured, supporting early-stage requirements such as workplace test fits, space planning and concept proposals. Projects are often directly appointed, with occasional involvement in responding to design and build RFPs.

The Role

As a Senior Associate Interior Designer, you will play a key role in supporting clients through the design process, providing creative and technical design expertise across workplace projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead workplace interior design projects through all stages of design, including space planning, test fits, concept development, design development and construction documentation.
  • Develop thoughtful workplace solutions that respond to client objectives, operational requirements, programme and budget considerations.
  • Act as a client-facing designer, presenting concepts, gathering feedback and managing design discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal Project Managers, estimators and external consultant teams to coordinate design development and project delivery.
  • Produce and review design information, ensuring quality, accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
  • Create design presentations including layouts, workplace concepts, material palettes and visual presentations.
  • Support clients through design reviews, workshops and decision-making processes.
  • Coordinate with project teams during construction stages to help maintain design intent.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously within a fast-paced consultancy environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior designers where required.

About You

You will be an experienced workplace designer who combines creativity with strong technical knowledge and enjoys working collaboratively within a client-focused consultancy environment. This role is particularly suited to designers who have experience managing projects from concept through to completion. Candidates who have previously worked freelance or in environments where they have taken ownership of all design stages are likely to be comfortable with the breadth and responsibility of this position. You will need to be confident managing multiple priorities, highly organised, and comfortable working across a variety of projects at different stages.
