Role Summary: Core Platform is responsible for defining and building shared engineering foundations used across application and API teams. As part of this mandate, we aim to accelerate internal web application development and improve consistency across teams, while partnering closely with the API Platform and other development teams. We are looking for a strong frontend engineer to help build reusable foundations for internal web applications. This role focuses on shared UI packages, application scaffolding, authentication and authorization integration, developer experience, and internal platform applications that support onboarding, access, and discovery. This is a platform engineering role focused on creating capabilities that can be adopted across teams, regions, and business domains.

Responsibilities:

  • Build reusable frontend foundations for internal web applications
  • Develop and maintain shared React/TypeScript packages, components, and tooling
  • Create and improve starter templates, application scaffolding, and developer workflows
  • Help define standards for application structure, testing, deployment, and supportability
  • Partner with other engineering teams on shared concerns such as authentication, authorization, observability, and frontend/backend integration patterns
  • Contribute to internal platform applications such as onboarding, access administration, and service discovery experiences
  • Evaluate and maintain third-party frontend dependencies and shared UI tooling
  • Support adoption through documentation, examples, and direct collaboration with developers across technology and investment teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong professional experience with React and TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of modern frontend architecture and application structure
  • Experience building reusable UI components, shared packages, or internal developer tooling
  • Experience with routing, state/data-fetching, and API integration in web applications
  • Experience with enterprise authentication and authorization patterns
  • Strong understanding of testing, build tooling, and frontend developer workflows
  • Strong communication skills and practical engineering judgment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with strong frontend depth in React and TypeScript
  • Experience in platform engineering, developer enablement, or building reusable internal tooling
  • Experience with Vite, Next.js, or both
  • Experience with UI/component libraries such as Ant Design, AG Grid, or similar
  • Experience with observability tooling such as Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or Grafana
  • Experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD or similar identity platforms
  • Experience publishing and maintaining internal npm packages
  • Experience building admin, control-plane, or internal workflow UIs
  • Familiarity with financial services or complex internal application environments

Compensation: Jain Global offers a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary bonus, and comprehensive benefits. The estimated base salary range for this position is £120,000- £155,000, which is specific to London and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual's experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
