This is a rare opportunity to join a leading global hedge fund and build a career in trading operations from the ground up. We’re looking for an ambitious graduate or school-leaver who is eager to gain hands-on experience across the full trade lifecycle and multiple asset classes in a fast-paced trading environment.
From day one, you’ll work closely with Traders, Portfolio Managers and external counterparties, developing a practical understanding of how a sophisticated global investment platform operates. No prior industry experience is required — what matters is strong numerical ability, intellectual curiosity and a genuine drive to learn, take ownership and develop quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the trading platform across multiple asset classes, including trade, position and cash reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve trade, settlement and cash discrepancies, working with internal teams and external counterparties.
- Develop a strong understanding of the full trade lifecycle, including trade capture, allocation, confirmation, settlement and exception management.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers and Traders, as well as Finance, Operations, Prime Brokers, custodians and fund administrators.
- Monitor settlement activity, corporate actions, margin movements, financing events and other market-driven operational activity.
- Assist with portfolio and NAV reconciliations and contribute to the firm's daily operational controls.
- Analyse operational issues, identify their root causes and help develop more efficient and scalable solutions.
- Look for opportunities to automate manual processes and improve workflows, using technology and data wherever possible.
- Support new account onboarding, product launches and projects that expand the capabilities of the trading platform.
- Develop an understanding of operational and trading risks and ensure issues are identified, communicated and resolved quickly.
Who We Are Looking For
- We are interested in candidates at the beginning of their careers who demonstrate potential, ambition and a genuine interest in financial markets. Previous experience in trading operations is not required.
- Intellectually curious, with a genuine interest in markets, trading and investing.
- Analytical and comfortable working with numbers and large amounts of information.
- Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized.
- A proactive problem solver who takes ownership of issues through to resolution.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Interested in using technology and automation to solve problems and improve processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A recent graduate or early-career candidate with a strong academic background.
