An opportunity has arisen for a Simulator Development Engineer to join the Jaguar TCS Racing department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About the role

The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain our DIL simulator infrastructure & supporting systems to deliver the most realistic simulator environment.

What you will do

  • Write software to replicate the real car environment virtually. This will involve, but not limited to, developing the vehicle model & subsystems, the setup interface, the data offload.
  • Build and maintain in‑house software applications to assist with data management, metrics, race management, energy management, and strategy.
  • Understand and optimise how to use real‑time operating systems.
  • Maintain and develop the back‑end IT infrastructure.
  • Work with hardware and software suppliers to integrate their systems into ours.
  • Attend DIL sessions with diagnostics support.
  • You will also be involved in the development of graphical display systems and motion cueing algorithms.

About you

  • Strong master’s degree in computer science, automotive, motorsport, or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Proficient with programming languages e.g. C, C++, C#.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics.
  • Knowledge of tyres, aerodynamics, performance control systems an advantage.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, dSPACE, Atlas, System Monitor, an advantage.
  • Previous experience with bespoke or commercial simulators an advantage.

  • Self‑motivated problem solver with a “Can do” attitude and high levels of initiative.
  • Calm & confident communicator with the ability to communicate information clearly, sometimes within a high‑pressure / time‑sensitive environment.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work long hours or weekends when supporting events.
  • Excellent inter‑personal skills with the ability to motivate & maximise everyone within a team environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Highest levels of professionalism and integrity.
