NVH stands for Noise and Vibration Harshness as a discipline and as an attribute which is also known as Refinement.
As an NVH Vehicle Chamber Technician, you will be responsible for all aspects of vehicle preparation, operation and de-preparation within the Vehicle Semi-Anechoic Chamber (VSAC) test environment,
The NVH Vehicle Chamber Operations have a broad scope for Dynamic and Static test activities at both vehicle and system levels.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s what to expect:
- Complete full preparation of test facility, parts and instrumentation to enable effective and timely data delivery
- Fit vehicles securely to the facility chassis dynamometer including wheel changing and fitting of safety cut out devices
- Conduct hygiene / build checks on vehicles and inspect component installations
- Change vehicle components to support measurements
- Produce NVH test parts from acoustic materials. e.g. foam, heavy layer etc
- Fit NVH test equipment to test vehicles
- Support Facility engineer during data acquisitions, positioning test equipment, e.g. sound sources
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Good knowledge of both, Internal combustion engine and electric vehicles
- Understanding of associated component level systems
- Highly proficient in removal and refitting of vehicle trim
- Proficient in removal and refitting of mechanical vehicle components
- Able to produce NVH test parts from acoustic materials. e.g. foam, heavy layer etc
- Experience of handling and installing test equipment and instruments
- Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision
