As an NVH Brake Dyno Technician, you will be responsible for all aspects of Brake Dyno off-line test preparation, operation and de-preparation within the Brake Dyno test environment, to enable readiness for test data acquisition on the ProLink software.

The Brake Dyno Operations have a broad scope for NVH test activities at both component and system levels.

What To Expect

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s what to expect:

  • Review test plan with facility engineer to ascertain test methodology and fixturing requirement
  • Install & record instrumentation positioning on test sheet
  • Prepare fixturing and vehicle parts for upcoming test requests ensuring required fixtures/parts are available. (eg. Brakes, Suspension assemblies)
  • Install Wheel Load Systems into the Brake Dynos according to build sheet
  • Install specialised test assemblies into the Brake Dynos
  • Install/Tune specialist equipment for measurements (eg. DTV sensors, Thermocouples).
  • Maintain part/fixture storage and facility 5S standards

What You’ll Need

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • NVQ level 3 in appropriate discipline
  • Good knowledge of whole vehicle and electrical/mechanical sub-systems
  • Experience with test rigs/dynos
  • Demonstrate understanding of processes and associated tools & techniques
  • Self-motivated and able to work to a high standard with minimum supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills communicating with customer groups
  • Knowledge and experience of working on prototype vehicles, chassis and sub systems
