As a Discrete Event Simulation Engineer at JLR, you’ll support vehicle and system programmes by creating virtual models of manufacturing processes from concept through to delivery. WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Developing and delivering discrete event simulation models and documentation from early concept through to programme milestones
  • Supporting optimisation of systems including cycle time, buffers and operational performance to meet programme targets
  • Collaborating with engineering, production and programme teams to refine designs and resolve constraints
  • Analysing bottlenecks and proposing strategies to improve throughput and efficiency
  • Coordinating feedback and presenting insights through dashboards, reviews and stakeholder updates

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Demonstrating experience with discrete event simulation tools and production process flow modelling
  • Applying problem-solving skills to complex technical systems including bottleneck analysis and optimisation
  • Managing projects and communicating insights clearly to both technical teams and senior stakeholders
  • Using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel and Teams, alongside knowledge of Lean techniques
  • Bringing familiarity with Siemens or Witness Plant Simulation, automotive manufacturing or data tools such as Python or PowerBI as an advantage
