Responsibilities

  • Event Vehicle Operations (EVO) primary purpose is to deliver JLR vehicles, promptly and in optimum condition, to a broad range of Business requirements both static and dynamic.
  • The scale ranges from individual vehicle loans for journalists, to fleets of up to 100 vehicles to support New Model Launch Events or significant marketing needs.
  • The Department also provides a comprehensive External Events service globally; manages vehicle fleets for internal customers e.g. Press; UK NSC; Photographic; Launch Fleets, and prepares vehicles to the highest cosmetic standards for all major Motor Shows.
  • Conduct modifications and repairs to vehicles including and provide comprehensive technical feedback, fault identification and problem diagnosis utilising diagnostic equipment as necessary.
  • Use of practical problem solving to establish root cause of all electrical faults and ensure robust resolution of all issues for on-going production fleets and new model launch activity requirements.
  • Repairing or replacement of major, minor units, interior trim and exterior body panels.
  • Carry out vehicle fault diagnostics and launch containments.
  • Capability to conduct software download updates through Topix Cloud.
  • Use Hunter Geometry, wheel changing machine and wheel balancing equipment (training provided where required).
  • Pre Delivery Inspections (P.D.I) and Warranty updates including Ris.
  • Develop and implement whole vehicle N.V.H and sealing packages to support launch activities.
  • Adopt world class 5S and Lean principles to support daily workshop objectives.

What you’ll need

  • Good Knowledge of JLR whole vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of Hybrid systems including BEV, PHEV and MHEV systems.
  • Knowledge of Topix and Topix cloud.
  • Full UK Driving License (6 Points maximum).
  • Flexible work location and ability to support vehicle product launches and motor shows around the world.
  • Understanding of SQDCME and LEAN behaviours to support Vehicle operations business enablers.
  • Knowledge & practical understanding of H & S, C.O.S.H.H. and environmental procedures.
