At JLR Solihull, the MP&L (Materials Planning and Logistics) team plays a critical role in ensuring smooth production and delivery operations. Their responsibilities span the entire supply chain, from supplier coordination to final vehicle delivery.

WHAT TO EXPECT
A core function within MP&L Team is the Release & Follow‑Up team, playing a pivotal role in ensuring that materials and components are delivered on time and in the correct quantities to support uninterrupted production as well as this you\’ll:
- Liaise with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure material is delivered on time in full, through proactive risk detection and collaborative problem solving
- Maintain integrity of CMMS schedule content against business and supply base needs
- Manage inventory levels for the supply chain against agreed budget targets
- Drive suppliers and cross functional support areas to deliver supply solutions and recovery activities during distressed supply situations
- Request stock checks to validate all suspected stock inaccuracies. Ensure appropriate inventory adjustments are made to protect accuracy of CMMS schedules
- Drive supplier performance through corporate systems (SPEEDY) to penalise vendors failing to meet delivery commitments
- Manage effective run out of old level/introduction of new level components to support running changes inclusive of obsolete parts disposal process within agreed timeframe (SSDS)
WHAT YOU\’LL NEED
You’ll have demonstrable experience of problem solving, with the ability to communicate to stakeholders at a senior level. You’ll have strong analytical skills and statistical ability and be able to read and produce complex reports to ensure data can be transferred into timely based information to help make key business decisions. Working experience of MRP / ERP systems would be a significant advantage.
You’ll have experience or knowledge of project management and process improvement. You’ll be an individual who is results driven with the ability to deliver operational plans in a highly demanding environment. You’ll be an effective team player who supports team members.
- Strong Analytical and Investigation skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Good communication skills (written & verbal) with ability to use own initiative
- Must have a thorough logical approach to issues, with high attention to detail
- External & Internal Stakeholder Management
- Relevant previous experience of material planning or Automotive Industry
- Previous experience of Project Management/ Co‑ordination
