Working across new and existing vehicle programmes, you’ll lead the development and refinement of manufacturing processes, ensuring quality, efficiency and consistency on the production line. In this role, you’ll drive continuous improvement across processes, equipment and tooling, while leading on problem solving and data‑driven decision making. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you’ll identify issues, implement solutions, and ensure they are delivered through to completion, supporting both current production and future launches. You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering team, helping to ensure processes meet key quality and performance targets. This role offers strong visibility across the business, with the opportunity to influence best practice and make a tangible impact within a fast‑paced, world‑class automotive manufacturing environment.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high‑quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including:
- Lead and support a team to deliver departmental objectives
- Own and maintain PFMEA and Control Plans, ensuring adherence and updates
- Drive continuous improvement across GSPAS manufacturing processes, including effective change management
- Plan, develop, procure and implement process equipment, tooling, jigs and fixtures
- Ensure full compliance with Manufacturing Quality Operating Standards, GMS deliverables, and process capability requirements (including dimensional management)
- Lead quality planning, problem solving and technical issue resolution, escalating where required
- Support virtual and physical builds, manage timing plans, oversee equipment installation, and represent CME across launch activities and cross‑functional teams
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including:
- Proven experience within assembly operations, ideally in an automotive manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong leadership capability, with experience leading, motivating and managing teams to deliver operational targets
- Degree‑qualified in Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
- Practical experience in project management, with the ability to deliver projects on time and within scope
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and track detailed, effective action plans
- Good understanding of product development processes, from concept through to production
- Solid knowledge of GMS requirements and Lean manufacturing principles, with the ability to drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
