WHAT TO EXPECT
You’ll be a part of the Global Manufacturing Engineering Paint Engineering team based at our Halewood Plant. As a member of the Facilities Engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, planning, and introduction of new facilities, materials, and equipment into the Paint shop.
You will work closely with our internal customers to provide support at all levels. You’ll be part of a team of facilities engineers that will be working to introduce new paint facilities and refurbish existing equipment to prolong its usable life. You will also be responsible for the introduction of new Paint technologies to meet our external customer expectations. You will support and represent the team at various reviews and act as a mentor to others within the team.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Provide a Manufacturing Engineering support role to Plant personnel as a member of cross-functional teams for problem-solving and continuous improvement activities with regard to Safety, Quality, Cost & Environment.
- Responsible for the management of GME facility documentation on the projects they work on in line with JLR procedures, supporting internal and external audits.
- Lead & partake in multifunctional New Equipment Procurement Teams through all project phases ensuring company procurement procedures are met & adhered to.
- Track project-based KPI’s & make ready for report out to the departmental manager weekly.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
WHAT YOU NEED
- An engineering and manufacturing background with previous experience in Paint Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience with reliability and maintainability principles and an understanding of the environmental impacts of engineering solutions.
- Qualification in an Engineering discipline or equivalent Engineering experience preferred.
- Comfortable working unsupervised to a set of objectives & targets.
- Experience of delivering both operational and strategic transactional and Facilities Project solutions across an array of engineering sites, buildings, and customer types.
- Extensive working knowledge of CDM and other Health & Safety regulations.
