Product Engineering at JLR is centred on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You will work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.
The Agile Lead System Engineer will be part of JLR’s leading multi-disciplinary systems engineering team, which is responsible for the functional definition of Driver Information functionality for current and future vehicle architectures, both “On-Board” the vehicle and Off-Board in Cloud environments.
What to Expect:
- You will be responsible for the generation and maintenance of the systems engineering requirements in the Traceable Requirements Management system (TRM) and model-based engineering tools (Catia Magic Systems) and ensure that requirements meet the required quality standards for content and traceability.
- Although this is a technical lead position, you will be acting as the squad's Scrum Master. This will involve running daily standups/scrum meetings, resolving any conflicts, and making sure the team is aligned on agile principles and methods of working.
- Other responsibilities include ensuring the content is properly specified, the supplier delivers against this specification, and that the delivered system is fully verified for inclusion on a vehicle program meeting the programme requirements for quality, cost, and time.
- Responsible for delivering the system architecture/sub-system/system/feature or software being developed to meet the business requirements on time with appropriate quality and at the right cost.
- Support the planning, co-ordination, delivery, and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes, using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles.
- Acting as Scrum Master to run daily stand-ups and support any conflicts and find issue resolution within the Domain and across functions, identify and resolve impediments and risks that slow down the squad output.
- Work towards the Domain performance and facilitate or escalate cross-module/cross-Domain problem resolution on all programme aspects of content delivery, including virtual build, physical build, and launch support.
What You’ll Need:
- Technical knowledge related to Automotive Electrical Systems and Architecture, with experience in V-Cycle or ASPICE.
- Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment, and acceptance.
- Experience of developing technical requirements specifications and associated test plans, and test cases as well as the ability to decompose logical requirements into system/subsystem requirements.
- Experience of planning, co-ordination, delivery, and reporting of requirements to support the Cycle Plan programmes using Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS) principles, proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels.
- A strong understanding of Agile methodologies and what the role of Scrum Master entails, running daily scrum meetings, conflict resolution, and supporting the team's alignment with agile principles.
