As part of JLR’s Assisted & Automated Driving Calibration team, you will work within a collaborative, agile environment, turning complex software and control strategies into confident, intuitive vehicle behaviour. The role involves hands‑on vehicle integration, testing, analysis and tuning across multiple programmes, contributing to ADAS features spanning autonomy levels 0–3. From active safety and cruising to parking and vision‑based systems, your work will help ensure features meet the highest global standards. This position sits at the heart of JLR’s journey towards increasingly intelligent and automated vehicles. WHAT TO EXPECT
As part of the team, you will be involved in a number of core activities that contribute to the success of the department, such as:
- Work at the forefront of assisted and automated driving, contributing to the development and refinement of ADAS features that define real‑world vehicle performance.
- Develop, integrate and calibrate ADAS software and motion control systems within JLR’s Assisted & Automated Driving Calibration team, working as part of an agile, cross‑functional environment.
- Deliver hands‑on vehicle integration, testing, analysis and tuning across multiple vehicle programmes, supporting ADAS features spanning autonomy levels 0–3.
- Perform detailed root‑cause analysis using diagnostic tools, data analysis techniques and bespoke scripts, driving effective problem resolution in collaboration with application engineers and ECU development teams.
- Support prototype and production manufacturing by providing calibration expertise, technical guidance and documentation to enable vehicle build, configuration and validation.
- Communicate clearly with engineering and programme teams, providing concise reporting, escalating risks and technical concerns, and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Undertake additional activities aligned to the role as required by the line manager to support programme and business objectives.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including:
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering using the V‑Model, including requirements‑based software development and robust validation and verification activities.
- Good understanding of automotive vehicle control systems (e.g. ADAS, chassis or powertrain), including associated actuators (such as steering and braking systems) and sensors (including cameras and radar).
- Relevant experience working with automotive vehicle networks, diagnostics, software and/or electronics, including data collection and analysis using industry‑standard tools (e.g. Vector CANalyzer/CANape, ETAS or AVL), and vehicle instrumentation and logging equipment.
- Understanding of quality and robustness methods and standards, including FMEA, P‑Diagrams, noise factor analysis, Design of Experiments and associated tools (e.g. AVL CAMEO, CONCERTO).
- Experience of safely planning and/or conducting vehicle testing on public roads and/or closed proving grounds; advanced driving permits are desirable. A full UK driving licence is essential.
- Experience testing or preferably calibrating complex automotive systems and software, with a proven track record of successful delivery of ADAS features or software.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, taking full ownership of work, applying structured logical reasoning to solve complex technical problems, and continuously identifying opportunities for improvement while considering wider team and programme objectives.
