Are you a Tax Manager with a continuous improvement mindset?
Reporting to the Director of Finance Operations, this role will be focused on managing all tax functions within the organisation. This includes the more routine corporation tax returns, including VGTR and Patent Box, as well as number of larger ongoing and new tax projects.
To be successful candidate you will need to be organised, keeping track of a number of ongoing projects, tenacious and a good communicator.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Support the Tax Director to define the Tax Roadmap and align it with the needs of the business and other key senior leaders in the business.
- Lead project-based work, working with external advisors to deliver and prioritise.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, filing, and payment of all corporate tax returns, including UK as well as US federal, state, and international taxes. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Work with finance operations to have oversight of VAT, Global Sales Tax and withholding tax. This requires preparation of returns and in some cases review of returns prepared by team members and external advisors.
- Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax provision calculations, tax-related financial disclosures, and compliance with tax reporting requirements under IFRS.
- Identify and mitigate tax-related risks by implementing effective internal controls, tax planning strategies, and compliance procedures. Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company\’s tax position and overall risk profile. Help to develop, formalise and execute well controlled tax and tax compliance processes within the business.
- Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain arm\’s length pricing for intercompany transactions.
- Liaise with the game development teams closely to be a good tax business partner and identify where opportunities and risks exist.
- Represent the company in tax audits, inquiries, and disputes with tax authorities. Prepare and review responses to tax notices and coordinate with external tax advisors and legal counsel as necessary.
What we\’re looking for:
- Qualifications: Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA) with experience in tax management.
- Tax Expertise: Experience and knowledge of global tax regulations, including VAT/GST, PAYE, transfer pricing, and corporate tax.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and data.
- Financially literate: Able to quickly assess tax, cash and accounting impact when assessing options.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate with stakeholders through written and oral methods.
- Process Improvement: Keen ability to streamline tax processes and implement new systems and tools.
- Project management: Able to manage self and others (including external advisors) to deadlines and track multiple workstreams.
