Are you an experienced QA professional with a passion for multiplayer games and the expertise to ensure quality across complex, interconnected systems at scale?
As a Senior QA Analyst on RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you’ll take ownership of the testing process for our open-world survival game built in UE5. From base building to combat, progression, persistence, and survival mechanics, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the stability, performance, balance, and quality that players expect from a living and evolving world.
Working closely with multiple internal teams, you’ll shape our test strategies and drive quality ownership throughout the product. As a senior member of the QA team, you’ll mentor others, lead on process improvement, and help define what great looks like for live-service multiplayer game development.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own the testing strategy for RuneScape: Dragonwilds’ complex systems, ensuring every system delivers a fair, stable experience for players.
- Define and evolve test strategies leveraging Unreal Engine 5, automation, telemetry, and profiling tools, driving quality at a level that matches the ambition of the game.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert across QA and gameplay domains, using player telemetry, defect trends, and exploit analysis to proactively surface risks before they impact players.
- Mentor and develop members of the QA team, raising the bar for multiplayer and live-service testing practice across the organisation.
- Partner across disciplines — from development and design to Live Operations, Localisation, and Submission — ensuring quality ownership and risk communication runs through every stage of development.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience managing QA for multiplayer or live-service products, with hands‑on expertise in networking, replication, persistence, matchmaking, and server performance testing.
- Strong understanding of open‑world and multiplayer testing challenges, including streaming, AI interactions, server stability, desynchronisation, and save/load systems.
- Demonstrated ability to define and drive risk‑based test strategies in a live‑service environment, collaborating across cross‑functional development teams.
- Experience testing compatibility, certification, and performance testing.
- In‑depth knowledge of QA tooling (e.g. JIRA, Xray, TestRail) and familiarity with specialist debugging, profiling, or network analysis tools.
- Proven experience mentoring QA team members and contributing to the improvement of quality processes across a development organisation.
What we offer:
When you join Jagex you can look forward to a generous Perks & Benefits package including:
- Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan.
- Discretionary annual performance bonus.
- Minimum 6 % Pension contributions.
- Life Insurance.
- Enhanced family leave policies from day 1.
