Reporting to the Lead People & Culture Business Partner, this role will deliver strategic and operational support to managers across set areas of the business. The role includes working with employees and managers, providing expertise, advice, and management information on a full range of P&C activities, while delivering against key initiatives to support the achievement of the P&C strategy. The Senior P&C Advisor will partner closely with the Lead P&C Business Partner and Senior P&C Business Partner, as well as the Centres of Excellence, to provide consultation, research, and recommendations on varied P&C topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to the P&C Business Partners team and ensure they are kept up to date with all important matters.
- Work in collaboration with the People Operations team to ensure people processes are adopted.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on future workforce needs, ensuring they are aligned with our Career Framework and Compensation structure.
- Work closely with the People Operations and the P&C Business Partner team to ensure regular reviews and updates of policies and procedures are managed effectively and in line with local legislations.
- Make recommendations for enhancing our processes and practices with a view to continuous improvement.
- Provide confidential advice, support, and guidance in relation to all aspects of employment, including contracts, absence, maternity, flexible working, and restructures.
- Manage employee welfare issues and involve Occupational Health as necessary.
- Work with managers to drive a culture of high-performing teams.
- Actively contribute to the development of management skills and knowledge in managing the employment relationship.
- Respond to queries from employees and managers, looping in relevant team members as needed and as appropriate.
- Write, compile, and present information on a range of P&C-related topics where required.
- Stay current on P&C trends, legislations, and best practices to support the team accordingly.
- Research, draft, and provide input on P&C policies and procedures in partnership with P&C Business Partners and People Operations.
- Support compensation planning, job analysis, job descriptions, and pay equity efforts led by the P&C Business Partners.
Employee Relations
- Investigate and resolve employee relations matters, identifying compliance risks and recommending solutions.
- Provide advice to line managers and employees on issues related to workplace or employee relations, such as grievances, conduct, employee health, and performance management.
- Support managers in Disciplinary and Grievance hearings.
- Support with DSARS and liaise with individuals when requests arise.
- Provide support to P&C Business Partners to ensure P&C practices align with policies, our company culture, and legal compliance across global locations.
Human Resources Information Systems and Data
- Work with the P&C Business Partner team and People Operations team to ensure that all relevant P&C data and records are up to date and compliant.
- Maintain and update the People Hub, so that our internal customers are well-informed with ready access to information.
Ad-hoc Project Work
- Contribute to wider project work within the People and Culture team, such as:
- Employee Engagement Survey – Supporting the P&CBP’s with action planning and tracking progress.
- Performance Management process – supporting managers with queries relating to goal setting and providing statistical updates on progress.
- Support the development of training to upskill people managers on P&C topics as required in partnership with P&CBPs and the Learning and Development function.
Requirements
- CIPD Level 5
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good knowledge of employment law
- A team player, able to work to deadlines and manage a varied and busy workload
- Competent with Microsoft Office
- Adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve them in a timely manner
- Strong interpersonal skills and highly collaborative, with the ability to work in a complex matrix environment that spans international borders
- Communicates clearly, both written and verbally, with employees, members of the People & Culture team, with the business, and in group presentations and meetings.
- Able to prioritize and plan work activities to use time efficiently.
- Organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
