Are you a skilled Character Artist who has created a wide variety of 3D character art assets?
As a Character Artist, your day to day production will be extremely varied, ranging from crafting player worn outfits, armor, weapons, and other character related props as well as creating NPC creatures of all shapes and sizes. You\’ll also work closely with artists and developers across the various disciplines.
What we\’re looking for:
Develop high quality 3D character assets ranging across creatures, humans and weapons
Work with a variety of industry standard tools including Zbrush, Maya, Substance Painter and Marmoset Tool bag 3 to produce assets
Demonstrate and apply your advanced level of knowledge of anatomy, form and structure, texturing, lighting, perspective and stylization fitting our game by consistently crafting appealing artwork in day to day production
Work closely with Concept Artists, Animators and Rigging to ensure models fit game art style, performant and game ready. In addition to working closely with the rest of the Art Team, Lead Character Artist and Art Directors to maintain and elevate game art style
Work closely with Content Developers and QA to ensure assets are correctly implemented in the game engine
Work with Tools Developers to troubleshoot and improve existing in-house tools and pipelines
Support cross discipline with artistic input, technical details and timecosts of asset production in order to release high quality art whilst keeping to production schedule
What we\’re looking for:
- Working knowledge of ZBrush, Substance Painter, Maya, and Photoshop
- Portfolio work demonstrating strong sculpting and texturing skill on stylized character artwork made with PBR pipeline
- Portfolio containing examples of, and displaying good understanding of human and creature anatomy
- Competency in art fundamentals such as light, shape, color, form, silhouette, materials
- Have worked on at least one released title
- Ability to deliver 3D character assets working from concept art or base 3D assets to create to high quality standards with light supervision of seniors/lead fitting specifications and schedule
- Ability to deliver high quality sculpt blockouts, finalized sculpts, map bakes, performant game ready low poly meshes and high-quality textures fitting technical requirement
- Ability to translate and evaluate art direction into final asset
- Passionate about games with knowledge and understanding of game development processes
To help us review your profile your portfolio should include at least one game ready asset, demonstrating efficient modelling suitable for rigging/skinning & animation with good mesh flow, efficient UVs and good texture work if possible.
