As an Environment Artist on RuneScape: Dragonwilds, our open‑world survival crafting game built in Unreal Engine 5, you’ll create and deliver environment art that supports a rich, explorable world. Working across level art, props, and world building, you’ll contribute to a stylised visual direction grounded in exaggerated realism.
This is a hands‑on role suited to a generalist environment artist, where you’ll work independently across multiple areas of production, from asset creation through to in‑engine implementation, while supporting a scalable and consistent world.
What you’ll be doing:
- Create and implement high‑quality environment assets across level art, props, and world building in Unreal Engine 5.
- Build modular kits and reusable assets to support scalable open‑world development.
- Produce assets including modelling, texturing, and material creation aligned to the project’s stylised visual direction.
- Work independently across environment production, from concept support through to final in‑engine implementation.
- Collaborate with art leadership and external partners to ensure outsourced content meets quality and style requirements.
- Follow established pipelines, optimising assets for performance within a large, interconnected world.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience creating environment art for games using Unreal Engine and industry‑standard 3D tools (e.g. Maya, ZBrush, Substance).
- Generalist skillset across level art, prop creation, modelling, and texturing.
- Experience working on open‑world or large‑scale environments.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating stylised environments or exaggerated realism.
- Experience integrating and reviewing outsourced assets within a production pipeline.
- Understanding of modular workflows and asset optimisation for real‑time environments.
- Experience with lighting or supporting concept art is advantageous.
What we offer:
When you join Jagex you can look forward to a generous Perks & Benefits package including: Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan. Discretionary annual performance bonus.
