Looking for a build engineering role where your work directly shapes how a live MMO reaches players every week? As a Build Engineer on Old School RuneScape, you will play a central role in keeping one of the world's most successful live MMOs moving at pace. Working within a cross-disciplinary game team, you will help power the systems, pipelines and deployment workflows that allow OSRS to deliver frequent, high-quality updates to a global player base.

This is an exciting opportunity because your work won't sit in the background unnoticed - it will directly support the weekly release cadence of a hugely loved live game. At Jagex, this role offers the chance to take real ownership of build and deployment technology in a unique MMO environment, shaping how teams develop, test and ship at scale.

What you will be doing:

  • Maintain and improve build and deployment systems that keep Old School RuneScape releases reliable, consistent and fast
  • Support the evolution of CI/CD pipelines and workflows, helping modernise how the game is built, tested and delivered
  • Help power OSRS's weekly release cadence, enabling the team to ship updates smoothly and with confidence
  • Create automation and scripting in Python, Bash and other languages to remove friction from development and testing
  • Improve monitoring, debugging and visibility across pipelines so issues can be identified earlier and resolved faster
  • Lead and evolve the client and server deployment integration that underpins how Old School RuneScape is delivered
  • Research and introduce modern tooling and approaches that strengthen pipeline resilience and simplify release processes
  • Take ownership of this technology area, sharing knowledge with the wider team and helping raise build and deployment standards

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable proficiency in scripting with Python and/or Bash
  • Proven experience working with build tooling and CI/CD systems, including Bamboo or similar platforms
  • Strong experience with version control tools such as Git and Perforce
  • Track record of improving build, deployment or automation workflows in a live development environment
  • Demonstrable understanding of modern development practices, with experience evaluating custom-built versus off-the-shelf solutions
  • Strong experience solving technical problems within complex or specialised technology stacks
  • Professional experience working in games development, with experience on a large-scale MMO game being a strong bonus
  • Being comfortable with other languages such as Java, C++ or Perl is a bonus

What we offer:

  • Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan.
  • Discretionary annual performance bonus.
  • Minimum 6% Pension contributions.
  • Life Insurance.
  • Enhanced family leave policies from day 1.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays & the option to buy/sell holidays + so much more!
