We are partnering with a fast-growing consumer-focused business to appoint a Finance Director in what is an ideal first-time FD opportunity. This is a key leadership role within a scaling organisation, offering the chance to shape financial strategy, build robust processes, and support ambitious growth plans.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take full ownership of the finance function, including managing and developing a team of 3. You will play a critical role in driving performance and ensuring financial discipline during a high-growth phase. This position requires a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable operating strategically and rolling up their sleeves when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the finance function, including managing a team of 3
- Owning cash flow management, forecasting, and optimisation
- Partnering with senior leadership to drive commercial decision-making
- Supporting fundraising, investor relations, and board reporting
- Implementing scalable systems and processes to support growth
- Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and insights
About You
This role is ideally suited to someone ready to step into their first Finance Director position. You will bring a strong foundation from a fast-paced environment and a desire to make a tangible impact.
We are looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience within a consumer, retail, or product-led business
- Background working in a scale-up or high-growth environment
- Prior experience in a business with turnover under £50m
- Strong cash flow management and forecasting expertise
- Commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to operate at both strategic and operational levels
