JAG Talent is partnered with a leading Media company to hire a Country Controller into their Global Finance team. This role reports into the Group Country Controller based in London and works alongside an SSC which is based in Budapest. This role will lead and manage a corporate entity based out of Israel and so requires a Hebrew speaker.

Responsibilities

  • Key partner to local business (Israel) on accounting matters
  • Ownership of local statutory, taxation and local filings (including indirect tax and any other local taxes), local GAAP and Company law compliance
  • Lead on audit for the entity
  • Month end close in local and US GAAP ledgers with transitional project into standardised SSC processes
  • All schedules and reporting for US GAAP reporting as required by Corporate
  • Ownership of the Balance Sheet (including all inputs)
  • Balance sheet commentary, clearing of certain open items managed accounts (locally managed accounts), responsible for local balance sheet reconciliations and review of high risk GBS balance sheet reconciliations
  • Judgemental decision making on bad debt and other balance sheet accounts
  • Review the calculation of bad debt reserves, secondary reviews of AR ageing
  • Oversight and tracking of Barter transactions and other significant items such as productions
  • First draft of technical accounting papers
  • Review of the financial results (FP&A does first pass of P&L commentary) to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements
  • Review of the Tax Pack
  • Ad Hoc projects and work as required for Controllership

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified accountant with PQE – min 1 year but more is preferred
  • Preferable Chartered Accountant and worked in audit training firm
  • IFRS and USGAAP Knowledge
  • SAP experience ideal
  • Preferable Media and tech industry background
