Role Overview:

Jaded London are looking for a dynamic and proactive Junior Merchandiser or established Assistant Merchandiser to join the growing Buying and Merchandising team. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking, ambitious individual to manage the Womenswear and Swimwear departments, bringing key forecasting, planning and trading skills to the role.

Role Overview:

Jaded London are looking for a dynamic and proactive Junior Merchandiser or established Assistant Merchandiser to join the growing Buying and Merchandising team. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking, ambitious individual to manage the Womenswear and Swimwear departments, bringing key forecasting, planning and trading skills to the role.

Your focuses will be to bring strong trade analysis, suggestions and actions to Jaded London, Jaded Swim and Jaded Unisex and manage actions on a daily, weekly and seasonal basis, collaborating closely with all departments to align product strategy across the business.

Key responsibilities will also include owning the WSSI and management of intake and OTB, driving and adapting product strategies in season with product facing departments as well as leading seasonal strategy plans and frameworks.

Being an excellent communicator is essential for this role to build strong relationships with all key stakeholders across internal departments and our external supply chain.

We\’re looking for someone who is proactive, with a keen eye for detail and strong ability to problem solve.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Accurately update and forecast WSSI and category WSSI\’s, be able to highlight opportunity and risk to sales, stock and intake. Completes monthly reforecasts, presenting key rationale and actions required to the Head of Trading and Finance department. Filters through key actions as priority with buying, merchandising and production teams
  • Presenting Womenswear and Swimwear weekly trade meetings to wider teams, telling a clear and concise story of highlights and lowlights for the week based on data insights, with key takeaways for all departments to take action for the week ahead. Independently drive analysis and a
  • Daily awareness of trading performance, especially around collection launches and how to adapt day-to-day intake and stock management tasks. Instil reactiveness on new styles and campaign styles. Independently drive analysis and areas of focus at a daily level, bringing creative ideas of how to present data and gather actionable insights
  • Follow up on trade actions throughout the week with key departments; Ecommerce, Social, Logistics, Production, Design, Suppliers. Feedback results from actions taken and provide suggestions for future strategies and processes
  • Ownership of linecards and repeat forecasting and quantifying buys, be able to accurately forecast linecards, ensuring we always achieve maximum availability and healthy cover on bestsellers
  • Forecast size ratios for new styles based on performance and accurately provide buy ratios for repeats. Complete regular sizing and returns analysis
  • Suggest price amendments for full price and markdown, be able to present strong rationale with key considerations for cover, margin, seasonality and discount
  • Exhibit reactiveness with bestsellers and slow sellers, making regular suggestions on quantity, date and price amendments, negotiate closely with suppliers to achieve the best outcomes. Link key actions to WSSI reforecast focuses across intake and OTB management
  • Devise Womenswear and Swimwear seasonal strategy packs and buy plans, presenting to the founders and product teams. Regularly monitor how we are trading in season and reactive amendments to seasonal strategy to maximise opportunity and manage risk
  • Always demonstrating foresight and strong critical path management with awareness of company, internal departments and supplier deadlines. Understanding of own weekly priorities and the impact on other stakeholders, constantly communicating with wider teams to reach shared goals. Particularly focusing on seasonal deadlines, key trading dates and strategies to manage short shelf life products and high potential trading dates effectively
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and awareness of supply chain capacities and capabilities in respective countries, the impact of freight methods on margin and lead time and key calendar dates across the supply base
  • Continually reviewing intake levels to manage expectations with warehouses and logistics teams. Reporting on any potential lateness risks and opportunities, especially around collection launches and bestsellers, making suggestions on when to amend freight methods. Work closely with warehouse on intake priorities
  • Work closely with buying and design teams, to make clear recommendations on risks and opportunities for new styles on: assortment, product categories, move ons, customer profile, core/flow lines, quantity, RRP, margin, competitors, trend, supplier capacity
  • Position and trade pop up shops and positioning, work closely with external partners, warehouse, shop floor staff to maximise revenue
  • Build relationships with our wholesale partners and our internal wholesale team, understanding our partners trading climate and where we can boost performance

Requirements

  • Proven track record as a Junior Merchandiser or Established Assistant Merchandiser
  • Commercial awareness and strong trading mindset, with a focus on reactivity and creative ideas to trade in season
  • Passion for the Jaded London brand and the fashion industry
  • Consistently demonstrating foresight, posses great organisational skills and instil critical path deadlines within the Buying & Merchandising department and also across other functions to maximise opportunities
  • Proven WSSI, intake and OTB management, as well as forecasting and planning experience across range building, markdowns and quantifying buys
  • Leads by example as a team player, exhibits positive attitude and a growth mindset
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Proactive and adaptable. Is able to bring about ideas and change to streamline processes and maximise efficiency
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders. Building great relationships with supply base
  • Strong prioritisation and accuracy skills. A critical thinker and problem solver who always bring ideas and solutions
