Brake Press / Roller Operator Location: Dorking Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Salary: Up to £15.09 per hour plus 20% shift allowance , depending on experience and skills. About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Brake Press / Roller Operator to join their established manufacturing team in Dorking. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position within a successful engineering business, working with modern CNC equipment in a clean, safety-focused production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC brake presses and powered rollers to manufacture high-quality stainless steel and mild steel components, ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved. Working Hours This is a 40-hour per week position working a rotating double-day shift pattern: Week 1 (Early Shift): Monday to Friday, 5:45am – 1:45pm Week 2 (Late Shift): Monday to Friday, 2:15pm – 10:15pm A paid 30-minute break is included each day. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC brake presses to manufacture components to specification. Set up and operate CNC plate rollers. Interpret engineering drawings and programme machinery accordingly. Programme Bystronic laser machines when required. Carry out self-inspection of completed parts to ensure they meet drawing and quality requirements. Perform daily safety and machine checks before operation. Work efficiently to meet production schedules and quality standards. Report any quality, production or equipment issues to the Team Leader or Manager. Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and follow all health and safety procedures. Work collaboratively within the manufacturing team to support production objectives. Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role. About You The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience operating CNC brake presses. Experience operating CNC plate rollers (desirable). The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Experience programming CNC machinery, including Bystronic equipment, is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work. Good organisational skills and the ability to work to production deadlines. A proactive approach to health and safety. A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. What's in it for You?
