Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in the Reigate area, is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join their Customer Service Sales Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, coordinating operational activities, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced commercial environment.
The Role
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of key customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring a consistently high standard of service delivery. You will work closely with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to oversee the smooth execution of orders and maintain strong working relationships. The successful candidate will combine excellent communication skills with strong organisational ability and commercial awareness to support customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customer accounts.
- Act as the main day-to-day contact for assigned clients.
- Develop a thorough understanding of customer requirements and expectations.
- Deliver a proactive and responsive service, resolving issues effectively and efficiently.
- Support customer retention and identify opportunities to add value.
- Order Operational Coordination
- Manage customer orders from receipt through to delivery.
- Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Monitor order progress and proactively address potential delays or issues.
- Support planning activities to accommodate changing customer demands.
- Systems, Reporting Data Management
- Maintain accurate records across ERP and business systems.
- Manage order processing, pricing, invoicing, and inventory visibility.
- Produce and analyse reports to monitor performance and identify trends.
- Ensure high levels of data accuracy and integrity at all times.
- Commercial Continuous Improvement
- Monitor account performance, including revenue and profitability.
- Assist with quotations, pricing enquiries, and commercial discussions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance customer service.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Stakeholder Management
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Provide regular updates on order status, performance, and key developments.
- Build collaborative relationships to ensure smooth service delivery and issue resolution.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in Account Management, Customer Service, Customer Success, or Operational Coordination.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of customer service within a supply chain, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or similar environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using ERP systems and reporting tools (such as Power BI, Oracle, SAP) would be advantageous.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
