JGA is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our growing studio. The ideal candidate is a technically strong, confident professional with experience in housing and residential development projects who is comfortable taking ownership of projects through both drawing production and construction administration phases.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and coordinate permit, tender, and construction drawing packages
- Conduct independent site visits and field reviews
- Prepare Site Instructions (SIs) and Field Review Reports
- Respond to RFIs and coordinate shop drawing reviews
- Assist in the development of construction details and technical drawing packages
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients throughout project delivery
- Support project management and scheduling during construction phases
- At times, provide mentorship as needed
- Ensure drawing standards and quality control procedures are strictly maintained
Experience:
- Experience working on residential and housing development projects
- Experience with construction administration and on-site coordination
- Experience producing construction details and coordinated drawing packages
- Experience reviewing truss and floor shop drawings
- Strong understanding of construction practices, and assembly detailing
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and local zoning bylaws
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and confidently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite
