A high growth fintech payments business is seeking a Mi FID Compliance Specialist to join its expanding Compliance function.

Operating within a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment, this role will play a key part in supporting the firm's regulatory framework as it continues to grow its investment services offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert Compliance advice on Mi FID II requirements across products, services, and business initiatives.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across Legal, Product, Operations, Commercial, and Compliance to ensure regulatory requirements are embedded into business activities.
  • Interpret regulatory developments and assess their impact on the firm's control framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of regulatory change initiatives relating to Mi FID, market conduct, investor protection, governance, and reporting obligations.
  • Review and enhance Compliance policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
  • Provide practical, risk based advice on new products, client propositions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support regulatory engagement, internal audits, and Compliance reviews where required.
  • Deliver training and guidance to stakeholders across the business on Mi FID and wider regulatory obligations.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrable experience within a Compliance Advisory, Regulatory Compliance, or Legal function supporting Mi FID regulated activities.
  • Strong understanding of Mi FID II, investment services regulation, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Experience gained within fintech, payments, investment firms, capital markets, or financial services environments.
  • A legal qualification or previous experience within a legal function would be advantageous.
  • Candidates from purely Business Analysis, Change, or Project Management backgrounds without hands on regulatory Compliance experience will not be suitable.
  • Confident operating within a dynamic, evolving business where priorities can change quickly.
