Compliance Monitoring Officer – Hedge Fund

A leading UK-based hedge fund is seeking an experienced Compliance Monitoring Officer to join its established Compliance function. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the firm’s Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP) within a dynamic, fast-paced buy-side environment.
You will play a key role in the design, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the CMP, ensuring it remains risk-focused and aligned with regulatory expectations. The position requires a proactive individual who can operate independently while engaging effectively with stakeholders across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and delivery of the Compliance Monitoring Programme, ensuring appropriate coverage across all business areas
- Conducting thematic and desk-based reviews, identifying potential risks and areas for improvement
- Producing clear, concise reports with practical recommendations and presenting findings to senior stakeholders
- Tracking and validating remediation actions arising from monitoring reviews
- Supporting the wider Compliance team on regulatory change and advisory matters where required
The ideal candidate will have prior experience within a buy-side firm, with a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape impacting hedge funds. You should have demonstrable experience in running compliance monitoring reviews, particularly thematic and desk-based assessments, and be comfortable engaging with front office teams.
