Fund Accountant, Part time contract, London

I’m working with a family investment office looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to support its finance team across a multi asset investment portfolio.

Six month contract | Three days per week | Onsite in Mayfair

This is a broad, hands on role working closely with a small team. You’ll take responsibility for overseeing outsourced fund administrators, ensuring reporting is accurate, resolving queries and keeping key deadlines on track.

A key part of the assignment will be identifying opportunities to automate manual tasks, improve reporting and reconciliation processes, and put clear procedures in place so the team can work more efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing NAV calculations, portfolio valuations, reconciliations and financial reporting prepared by administrators.
  • Managing day to day provider relationships, challenging discrepancies and following issues through to resolution.
  • Improving controls, documenting procedures and identifying opportunities to reduce manual work.
  • Coordinating audits and year end reporting across approximately five entities.
  • Reviewing capital calls, distributions, cash movements and funding requirements.
  • Preparing management reporting and coordinating information requests from auditors, tax advisers and other external partners.

You’ll bring strong fund accounting experience, ideally gained within an investment manager, family office or fund administrator. Experience overseeing outsourced providers and coordinating audits is particularly relevant, alongside the confidence to work independently and manage competing priorities. An ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification is preferred.

This would particularly suit someone looking for a three day working week who can commit to that arrangement for the duration of the contract.
