Compliance Monitoring Manager – FinTech Payments

Location: London (Hybrid)

A high-growth, FCA-regulated FinTech payments business is seeking an experienced Compliance Monitoring Manager to support the ongoing development of its compliance assurance framework.

This is a manager-level role within the Compliance function, focused on providing independent second-line oversight across non-financial crime regulatory and conduct risk areas. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that policies, procedures, and controls are operating effectively in line with regulatory expectations and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and deliver a risk-based Compliance Monitoring Plan
• Conduct end-to-end compliance monitoring and assurance reviews
• Lead thematic reviews across priority regulatory and conduct risk topics
• Assess the effectiveness of existing controls and identify areas for enhancement
• Produce clear, concise written reports for senior management and governance forums
• Agree and track remedial actions with first-line stakeholders
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the compliance monitoring framework as the business scales

The role requires proven experience within Compliance Monitoring, Compliance Assurance, or Internal Audit, gained within a FinTech, payments, or wider financial services environment. Candidates should be comfortable managing reviews independently, engaging with senior stakeholders, and exercising sound judgement in a fast-paced regulatory setting.

Experience delivering thematic reviews is highly desirable, as is a structured, analytical approach and strong written communication skills. Prior exposure to FCA-regulated firms, particularly within payments or e-money, would be advantageous.
