We’re looking for an experienced Senior AV Technician to join a fast-paced venue environment delivering high-quality live, hybrid and recorded events. You’ll be hands-on with production technology including vMix, recording workflows, camera operation, BirdDog PTZ systems, multi-platform streaming, and the setup of audio-visual systems across multiple event spaces. This role suits a confident technician ready to step into a senior position — someone who can lead on technical delivery, support junior team members, and ensure every event runs flawlessly.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Technical Delivery & Event Support
- Prepare, configure and operate AV systems to meet exact client requirements
- Deliver live, hybrid and streamed events using PTZ cameras, vMix and streaming platforms
- Advise clients on technical solutions and operate equipment during events
- Set up and reconfigure systems when equipment is moved between rooms
- Ensure all event spaces are fully prepared and technically ready on time
- Equipment & Facilities Management
- Maintain AV equipment, facilities and stock to a high standard
- Manage inventory including cables, accessories, spares and consumables
- Coordinate repairs, servicing and temporary workarounds when required
- Recommend technology upgrades to enhance the user experience
- Carry out routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
- Leadership & Operations
- Deputise for the AV Manager when required
- Coordinate workloads across technicians and freelancers on site
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to junior team members
- Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across all events
- Maintain clear communication with venue stakeholders
- Standards & Compliance
- Follow company policies, health & safety regulations and venue procedures
- Maintain accurate reporting, documentation and daily handovers
- Ensure workspaces, control rooms and storage areas remain organised
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with vMix, streaming workflows and PTZ camera systems (BirdDog desirable)
- Proven background delivering live and hybrid events
- Confident troubleshooting AV systems in a live environment
- Ability to lead projects and support other technicians
- Organised, proactive and client-focused
