Your impact

In this newly created role we are in search of a versatile Business Analyst to fulfil a crucial role in bridging the gap between programme or project objectives and the digital solutions that support them. Acting as a catalyst for change, guiding client organisations through complex digital journeys by understanding process, identifying problems, eliciting needs, shaping solutions, and ensuring alignment between business goals and technical delivery.

Supporting one of our major Utilities projects, you will be part of the Jacobs’ Digital & Data Team sitting at the intersection of engineering expertise and cutting-edge software, data and cloud services, delivering innovative solutions across water, transportation and major programmes, leveraging data engineering, analytics, machine vision, big-data processing and more. We partner closely with clients to solve their toughest challenges and drive real business impact.

Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and pain points, translating them into clear and actionable requirements, your remit will include:

  • Supporting the design and delivery of digital and data solutions within existing projects and programmes, ensuring alignment with client goals, requirements, and objectives.
  • Playing a key role in the change process and facilitating the adoption and scaling of solutions.
  • Facilitating workshops, interviews, and working groups to elicit requirements, validate assumptions, and align stakeholders on priorities and outcomes.
  • Working closely with development teams within agile delivery frameworks, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and feature prioritisation to ensure timely and effective delivery of business value.
  • Coordinating prioritisation and minimum viable product by using analysis led insights.
  • Managing multiple engagements across different sectors, maintaining high standards of delivery, facilitating varied project scopes, timelines, and client expectations.

Here's what you'll need:

  • With a sound knowledge of and experience in utilising digital tools and platforms such as Mural/Miro/Lucid, Azure DevOps/JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft 365 suite, we are keen to hear from candidates who have the following skills, experience and attributes:
  • Demonstrable experience in a Business Analyst role, ideally within client-facing or consultancy environment.
  • Established track record in digital delivery, agile methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience working within engineering, infrastructure, or technical project environments is advantageous.
  • Well versed in stakeholder engagement, problem solving, and solution delivery.
  • Able to effectively communicate complex ideas, features, and benefits to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring shared understanding and buy-in.
  • Proficient in Requirements Management, capturing, analysing, and documenting business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and process reviews.
  • Comfortable proposing practical, value-driven solutions that meet business needs and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Mistakes are welcome – being able to offer a solution is the secret ingredient!
