We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the specification, design and delivery of electrical solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working alongside industry leaders such as United Utilities, Northumbrian Water, Thames Water, Severn Trent Water and Anglian Water, you will help set new standards for excellence in the sector.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Engineering Excellence – act as subject‑matter expert on multidisciplinary projects.
- Requirement Management – work with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver solutions that meet contract‑specific KPIs.
- Innovate & Add Value – participate in value engineering and buildability workshops, delivering sustainable and innovative design solutions for water infrastructure.
- Design & Specification – develop and produce detailed electrical designs, drawings and specifications for projects such as pumping stations, treatment plants and distribution networks.
- Quality, Safety and Governance – ensure all design, engineering and technical delivery solutions comply with regulatory and safety standards while embedding constructability and commissioning requirements into designs.
- Technical Analysis – investigate and analyse existing assets, recommend improvements and produce complex calculations as required.
- Collaborate – support project engineers, design managers and onsite delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Management – contribute to design management, scheduling, milestone delivery, risk management, change control and financial forecasting.
- Team & Culture – foster a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, mentoring and professional growth within the electrical discipline.
Qualifications
- Professional Membership – working toward or holding chartered status (e.g., IET or equivalent).
- Technical – in‑depth understanding of electrical engineering principles from concept through commissioning and operation.
- Design – proficiency with CAD and electrical design packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP and SKM.
- Experience – experience in water and/or wastewater treatment works, pumping station design and engineering.
- Delivery – design‑and‑build execution of water industry projects.
- Commercial – understanding of project budgets, change management and cost control.
