At Jacobs, you will lead high‑impact urban drainage modelling projects across foul, combined and surface water systems, shaping resilient, future‑ready communities in the UK water sector. You’ll guide critical programmes for Northumbrian Water, United Utilities and other leading utilities, partnering closely to deliver smarter, sustainable drainage solutions end‑to‑end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex urban drainage modelling projects, using InfoWorks ICM and other tools.
  • Drive innovation in model build, verification and performance insights.
  • Tackle challenges such as flooding, CSO compliance, integrated catchment modelling and 2D overland flow.
  • Develop smart, sustainable solutions through optioneering and advanced analysis.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle—from early strategy and feasibility to design, construction and optimisation.
  • Influence major programmes by engaging directly with clients as a trusted advisor.
  • Mentor and grow the next generation of engineers and modellers.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced experience in urban drainage modelling, including InfoWorks ICM and InfoAsset Manager.
  • Strong GIS capability (ArcGIS, MapInfo) to support technical excellence and decision‑making.
  • Proven track record delivering complex water sector projects and building strong client relationships.
  • In‑depth understanding of industry standards, regulations and technical quality requirements.
  • Ability to lead across multiple work streams, balancing priorities with confidence.
  • Professional membership with ICE or CIWEM (Chartered or in progress).
  • A passion for mentoring, collaboration and driving technical excellence.
