Job Overview

At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

You know that quality is about far more than compliance. In this role, you'll help shape how major infrastructure and engineering projects are delivered, ensuring quality is embedded from the outset rather than inspected in at the end.

You'll work alongside Programme Directors, Project Managers, Technical Directors and project teams to reduce risk, strengthen governance and improve delivery performance. Your expertise will help teams identify issues before they become problems, improve consistency across projects, and translate lessons learned into practical improvements that benefit future work.

You’ll play a key role in creating confidence for clients, delivery teams and partners by ensuring projects are governed effectively, contractual requirements are met, and quality standards are applied in a way that supports successful project outcomes.

Your influence will extend beyond individual projects. The systems, processes and improvements you develop will help raise standards across programmes, frameworks and delivery teams.

Success in this role means helping project teams consistently achieve high standards, reducing quality-related risks, strengthening delivery performance and creating a culture where continuous improvement becomes part of everyday project delivery.

About the opportunity

We're looking for a Quality Manager to join our Delivery Excellence team and help shape how major engineering and infrastructure projects are delivered.

This is a role for someone who sees quality as more than compliance. You'll work alongside Programme Directors, Project Managers, Technical Directors and project teams to embed effective quality management practices that improve project performance, reduce risk and strengthen client confidence.

Supporting a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects, you'll help teams navigate complex contractual, regulatory and governance requirements while ensuring quality is embedded throughout the project lifecycle. You'll develop practical quality plans, assurance processes and governance frameworks that support successful delivery rather than create unnecessary bureaucracy.

Working across project teams, clients and delivery partners, you'll identify risks and opportunities early, lead reviews and audits, support root cause investigations, and use project data and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement. You'll also play a key role in helping teams improve ways of working, share best practice and deliver better outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

What makes this opportunity different is the breadth of influence you'll have. Rather than focusing solely on audits or compliance activities, you'll work closely with project leadership and technical specialists to improve how projects are planned, governed and delivered.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering quality management within engineering, infrastructure, design, construction or related project environments.
  • Practical understanding of quality management systems and their application within projects and programmes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 with experience applying quality management principles in complex delivery environments.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and build credibility across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience developing or supporting project quality plans, assurance activities or governance processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to facilitate investigations and identify root causes.

Rewards and Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll have access to a comprehensive benefits package, professional development opportunities and support for ongoing learning and career progression.

Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available where project requirements allow.

Equal Employment Opportunity

As a disability confident employer, we will interview disabled candidates who best meet the criteria. We welcome applications from candidates who are seeking flexible working and from those who may not meet all the listed requirements for a role.
