About the opportunity
As a passionate and experienced Quantity Surveyor with NEC experience who has time served working in highways, water, energy and power or transportation and infrastructure schemes, you will bring the drive to deliver influential projects in the country.
You might be involved in short‑term local projects or long‑term national programmes, such as:
- Large‑scale and impactful Local Authority transportation schemes.
- Transformational clean energy programmes.
- Influential and strategic water programmes.
- Advanced facilities, science and technological estates.
- Prestigious civil infrastructure projects such as Lower Thames Crossing, King Salman International Airport and Dublin BusConnects.
Experience and skills
- Consultancy work and project delivery in the construction industry, specifically in energy and power, transportation, and/or water projects.
- Delivering early cost estimates, cost plans and estimating to support management of client budgets.
- Understanding of measurement techniques, market factors, risk allowances and preliminaries assessments.
- Managing end‑to‑end procurement: developing procurement and contracting plans, tendering, evaluation and contract award, aligned with NEC principles.
- Assessing contractors and suppliers for financial stability, cost competitiveness and delivery capability.
- Leading price negotiations using market data, scenario modelling and cost analysis.
- Proficiency in computerised measurement packages (e.g., CostX).
- Client‑facing experience, driving value through value engineering.
- Degree in quantity surveying or a relevant qualification and Chartered Quantity Surveyor or working towards MRICS or equivalent preferred.
