About the Opportunity

Our Safety Case Engineers are at the forefront of ground breaking projects, working hand-in-hand across the civil nuclear and defence sectors, both in the UK and on a global stage. From next-generation systems and emerging reactor technologies, like SMRs, to ensuring the safe operation of existing nuclear facilities, we cover the full spectrum of the nuclear lifecycle. We're excited to hear from professionals with expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Safety Case production and management e.g. engineering changes, safety reports (PSRs, PCSRs etc).
  • Hazard and Risk identification and assessment studies, e.g. FMEA, HAZOP, ALARP.
  • Internal and External Hazard assessments.
  • Deterministic and Probabilistic Safety Assessments (PSA).
  • Nuclear Licensing and Authorisations.
  • Integrating safety principles into engineering designs.
  • Structural Integrity design/assessment of nuclear related structures and components.

The Role

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Delivering technical work to support the demonstration that a facility or system can be operated safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaising with clients to understand their challenges and developing solutions.
  • Representing the business in technical meetings with clients, regulators and other third parties.
  • Helping to maintain the technical capability/knowledge of the community and mentoring junior team members (as appropriate).

What You'll Need

  • A degree (or equivalent demonstrable experience) in a STEM discipline.
  • Experience of executing project tasks against relevant standards and best practices.
  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Chartered Member of a professional institute (or equivalent demonstrable experience) or working towards either Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
