This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence projects from feasibility through to construction and operation, working across diverse electrical assets to create cost‑effective, high‑quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Electrical Engineering Excellence: Serve as the subject‑matter expert on multidisciplinary projects, delivering electrical solutions that meet and exceed client and regulatory requirements.
- Requirement Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver design solutions that meet contract‑specific KPIs.
- Innovation & Value Engineering: Participate in value engineering and buildability workshops to propose sustainable, innovative design improvements for water infrastructure.
- Design & Specification: Develop detailed electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for pumping stations, treatment plants and distribution networks.
- Quality, Safety & Governance: Ensure all designs comply with regulatory and safety standards, embedding constructability and commissioning requirements into the design.
- Technical Analysis: Investigate and analyse existing assets, recommend improvements, and perform complex calculations as required.
- Collaboration: Support project engineers, design managers and on‑site delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Management: Contribute to design management, scheduling, milestone delivery, risk management, change control and financial forecasting.
- Team & Culture: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, mentoring and professional growth within the electrical discipline.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Progressive experience delivering detailed design and Design & Build solutions for water, wastewater and bioresources projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and operations.
- Proficiency with CAD and electrical design packages (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, etc.).
- Experience with water and/or wastewater treatment works, pumping station design and engineering.
- Commercial awareness of project budgets, change management and cost control.
- Working toward or holding chartered status (e.g., IET, IEEE or equivalent).
