At Jacobs, our Fire Engineering team helps clients deliver safer, smarter and more resilient infrastructure and buildings.

As we continue to grow our Manchester team, we're looking for a Senior Fire Engineer to join us and support the delivery of innovative fire engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects

As a Senior Fire Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering fire engineering support across a wide range of infrastructure and built environment projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and performance-based fire safety solutions.

You'll be involved in developing fire strategies, delivering fire engineering design solutions, preparing technical reports, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure and building projects.

You'll collaborate with clients and stakeholders, contribute to project delivery from concept through construction, and help create safer, more resilient environments across a diverse range of sectors.

At Jacobs, you'll have the opportunity to work with major clients across the UK and internationally.

Our teams support projects for organisations such as National Grid, major airport operators, rail and transportation providers, housing associations, local authorities, and critical infrastructure clients.

From transportation hubs and energy assets to large-scale residential developments and complex public buildings, you'll help shape projects that have a lasting impact on communities and the built environment.

  • Here's what you'll need
  • Experience delivering fire engineering design solutions on large infrastructure or complex building projects.
  • A degree in Fire Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience preparing fire strategies, technical reports and fire engineering assessments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK fire safety standards, regulations and guidance.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Chartered Engineer status or are actively working towards chartership, ideally through the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE).
