About this apprenticeship opportunity: Are you looking for the opportunity to study alongside working for a company focused on the biggest challenges in the world today? We are excited to be looking for a Regulated Water Civil Engineering apprentice to join our Manchester office. You will work towards achieving a UK Level 6 qualification at the University of Salford.

About the opportunity: Jacobs has secured multi-year contracts and projects with leading clients in the water sector throughout the UK and Ireland. We need a range of skills to deliver these fantastic opportunities and are therefore recruiting apprentices from all disciplines who are looking to grow their careers in the water sector. You will join our team of over 1000 water professionals, working on high-profile projects and become part of a World Leading Company with excellent career prospects.
You will work with teams who have a successful track record in delivering projects specialising in:
- Water/wastewater networks
- Water/wastewater treatment
- Asset management
- Integrated catchment management
- Network modelling
- Project/programme management
Due to unprecedented demand in the water sector, our teams are currently working on programmes of work for the major water companies in the UK. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be providing innovative and sustainable solutions in:
- Design of water treatment plants, pumping stations and distribution networks
- Design of wastewater treatment plants and drainage network assets
- Design of pressure and gravity pipelines
- Design of site layouts in markets such as water, datacentres and energy
- Preparation of feasibility studies for new water and wastewater assets

Here’s what you’ll need:
- A minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points including Grade B in A-level Mathematics or equivalent
- A keen interest in civil engineering and regulated water management
- Strong communication and teamworking skills
- A flexible and proactive self-starter who’s passionate about developing new skills
- The ability to adapt and prioritise whilst juggling work and study priorities
- Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply your skills to solve real-world problems
- Empathy and listening skills to help you understand our clients’ requirements
- A well-rounded person with interesting stories and experiences
