About the Opportunity
As a passionate and experienced quantity surveyor with NEC experience and time served working in highways, water, energy and power or transportation and infrastructure schemes, you will deliver some of the most influential projects in the country. You might be involved with shortâterm local projects or longâterm national programmes, including:
- Largeâscale local authority transportation schemes.
- Transformational clean energy programmes.
- Influential and strategic water programmes.
- Advanced facilities, science and technological estates.
- Prestigious civil infrastructure projects such as Lower Thames Crossing, King Salman International Airport and Dublin BusConnects.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience in consultancy work and project delivery in the construction industry, specifically in energy and power, transportation, and/or water projects.
- Deliver early cost estimates, cost plans and estimating to support management of client budgets.
- Understand measurement techniques, market factors, risk allowances and preliminaries assessments.
- Manage endâtoâend procurement â developing procurement and contracting plans, tendering, evaluation, and contract award, aligned with NEC principles and industry standards.
- Assess contractors and suppliers for financial stability, cost competitiveness and delivery capability to support informed decisions and risk mitigation.
- Lead price negotiations using market data, scenario modelling and cost analysis to secure bestâvalue terms and resolve disputes.
- Proficiency in computerised measurement packages (e.g. CostX).
- Clientâfacing experience, driving value into the projects through value engineering.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering early cost estimates, cost plans and estimating to support management of client budgets.
- Experience managing endâtoâend procurement following NEC principles.
- Solid analytical and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with CostX and other measurement packages.
- Strong communication and clientâfacing abilities.
- Degree in quantity surveying with MRICS or equivalent preferable.
Work Environment
