Associate Director (Building Surveying) – UK team (Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester). Senior leadership role responsible for delivering a diverse mix of building surveying services across commercial, industrial, and public‑sector assets.
Responsibilities
- Lead major workstreams such as large‑scale condition surveys and fire‑safety remediation programmes.
- Prepare and review specifications, tender documentation and design information.
- Produce high‑quality technical reports including condition surveys, options appraisals, heritage statements, due‑diligence outputs, and RIBA Stage 2/3 contributions.
- Apply knowledge of current UK construction requirements and health and safety legislation to ensure technical integrity.
- Survey the condition of existing buildings, identify and analyse defects and recommend repair solutions.
- Mentor and develop junior colleagues, acting as an APC supervisor, counsellor or assessor.
- Build trusted client relationships through professional, timely and proactive communication.
- Influence and grow workstreams, support proposals, fee development and client presentations to expand presence in the Scottish regions and wider UK.
- Assist with bid documentation, business development and long‑term client partnership strengthening.
Qualifications
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS).
- Private practice or consultancy experience with knowledge of relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations, planning and the Building Safety Act, PAS 9980.
- Experience surveying the condition of existing buildings and developing repair proposals.
- Ability to secure SC level clearance is advantageous.
- Hybrid working – three days office attendance.
