We’re hiring Principal Modellers and Associate Directors of Modelling to strengthen our teams and support long-term frameworks with leading UK water companies. Your expertise will help deliver innovative solutions that protect the environment, reduce flood risk, improve water supply, and create lasting value for local communities. From early-stage planning to detailed design and delivery, you’ll contribute to diverse programmes across the full project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
- Technical lead for network modelling projects
- Line Management of project team members with responsibility for day-to-day leadership and direction for the team, workload planning, technical guidance, driving staff performance and career development.
- Management of all health and safety, quality and environmental aspects of projects.
- Technical development and delivery of wastewater catchment strategies and solutions, to include flooding and CSO drivers.
- Provide technical and commercial leadership in the delivery of wastewater network projects within agreed timeframes and budgets and to exceed our clients’ expectations.
- Technical governance of outputs and compliance with client specifications.
- Using network models for planning, operational and design purposes.
- Support and supervise the wastewater modelling team, ensuring technical excellence and best industry practice.
- Contribute to developing working methods, routines and innovative solutions to improve processes in the delivery of wastewater network projects.
- Supervision of report writing check and review of technical modelling outputs.
- Plan, programme and co-ordinate projects delivery.
- Contribute to the preparation of cost estimates.
- Supporting management in developing relationships and sales with existing and new clients.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Excellent knowledge of the water industry with a focus on wastewater network solutions.
- Proficiency in wastewater modelling software such as InfoAsset Manager, and InfoWorks ICM, ArcGIS, MapInfo.
- Strong technical ability in the outline design of wastewater schemes; sewage pumping systems and treatment facilities.
- Expertise in 1D and 2D modelling.
- Excellent knowledge in current industry best practice and able to actively contribute to innovation in this field.
- Good supervision and leadership skills.
- Ensuring project financial and programme performance.
- Experience of liaising with clients and managing projects.
- Management and technical supervision of a team of modellers.
