Jacobs is looking for Instrumentation, Controls and Automation Engineers at all levels across the UK to support major projects in water and wastewater infrastructure. Join a team that turns complex design challenges into innovative, sustainable solutions.
Your Impact
As part of a UK‑wide team, you will deliver extensive portfolios of projects—from concept and detailed design through commissioning and life‑cycle asset O&M. Your role will involve working with multidisciplinary teams, coordinating control system engineering, and ensuring technical quality and governance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver ICA Engineering Excellence – contribute to or lead ICA engineering elements of multidisciplinary projects from concept through completion, ensuring technical quality and governance.
- Add Value Through Collaboration – participate in value engineering and buildability workshops, sharing ideas and driving innovative solutions.
- Create Sustainable Designs – help deliver forward‑thinking, sustainable ICA solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Ensure Compliance & Quality – support or oversee technical delivery, ensuring adherence to current and developing regulatory and safety standards.
- Project Management – contribute to design management, scheduling, risk management, change control, and financial forecasting while collaborating with stakeholders to drive success.
- Embed Constructability & Commissioning – integrate practical commissioning and site acceptance test requirements into designs.
- Support Team Development – mentor colleagues and peers, facilitating a collaborative ICA team culture.
- Champion Safety & Wellbeing – ensure a world‑class approach to behaviour in health, safety, and wellbeing management in line with Jacobs’ BeyondZero approach.
Qualifications
- Working towards or holding chartered status (e.g., IEEE or equivalent), depending on experience.
- Demonstrable progressive experience in detailed design and Design & Build execution for water, wastewater, and bioresources projects.
- Ability to apply robust ICA engineering knowledge to deliver innovative, compliant solutions from concept through commissioning, with familiarity of UK water sector regulations and safety protocols.
- A trusted technical authority in E&ICA engineering, driving excellence and governance across multidisciplinary water infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of current health, safety, and welfare legislation, promoting best practices at all levels.
- Ability to foster a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, and professional growth within the ICA discipline.
