Your impact: Want to play your part in the delivery of the largest ever UK capex/infrastructure investment programme, that will shape the future of the water industry for generations to come? In this newly created subject matter expert role, you will play a key and integral role in the development, planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pressurised and gravity pipeline systems, pumping stations, and treatment plant connections, supporting sustainable water resource management ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Your remit will include:
- Design and develop hydraulic and pipeline systems, including layout, material selection, and pressure analysis.
- Conduct feasibility studies, hydraulic modelling, and simulations, perform detailed calculations and fluid dynamics analysis to ensure system efficiency, reliability and safety.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of pipeline systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplined teams - civil, environmental, mechanical engineers on integrated infrastructure projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing hydraulic and pipeline systems.
- Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
- Mentor and develop colleagues and peers, supporting personal development, increasing capability footprint.
Here’s what you’ll need: We would be delighted to hear from candidates with a demonstrable blend of the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
- Proven experience in managing water and wastewater projects within UK regulatory frameworks.
- A Masters Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Fluid Mechanics or similar.
- Chartered Status (CEng) with a recognised Professional Institution.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software and CAD tools i.e. HADES.
